Charles Conlon was a master of his craft and the first Sports Photorapher to focus on the smallest details of the greatest stars in the game. He was ahead of his time and viewed the World of Baseball differently and through the lens of the artist we get this iconic image of the deformed pitching grip of Mordecai "Three Finger" Brown. Brown was dominant to say the least and a childhood accident that left his pitching hand mangled helped produce obscure spins on the ball that led to a Hall of Fame Career! The Official Federal League Baseball he is holding helps to make this a special piece as well. Conlon has stamped this photo on the back and although it dates to approximately 28 years after it was first shot, it remains a special piece as it was developed by Conlon from his original negative! One of the greatest Sports Photographs ever taken and a Museum Quality Piece!
