1919 Vintage snapshot photograph of Shoeless Joe Jackson posed before the start of the first World Series game in Cincinnati. What must have been going through the mind of Joe as the shutter snapped, he was one of only a handful of people on the planet that knew what was about to happen, that he and some of his teammates were about to taint the game of baseball for a paycheck. A classic sized snapshot photograph that absolutely dates to 1919, the photo is remarkably one of two known to exist as one other example was sold in 2017 in Huggins and Scott auction as part of a photo-album for $26,000 mostly on the back of this photograph (the one in Huggins and Scott was clearly identified as Jackson)! While our example appears to have been done on a different paper stock, it retains nice clarity and detail. It will likely receive a designation of "Type 3" from PSA as it appears to be just a hint off register from the other example that is known and while there is no editorial marks in the image that would make it easily pegged as being off a duplicate negative, we feel that it will be designated as such. A completely vintage Shoeless Joe Jackson photograph from just before the start of the first game of the World Series, this is an exciting new discovery offered here for the first time ever that is sure to become the cornerstone of even the most advanced collection!
