Original c. 1915 White Studio photograph from New York of Mike Donlin, famous Baseball player who was making a go of it as a Movie Star at the time. Beautiful portrait photo in nice condition and it is one of the few examples of Donlin in his second career that is known to exist. This is obviously a photo that was made to promote his stage abilities as he is wearing make-up and has the pale faced look that was necessary for people's faces to show up on the early film equipment of the day. Donlin would appear in several films and on the stage, but he should have stayed in Baseball! With a career average of .333, he would have been a certain Hall of Famer had he given Baseball his full attention.
