October 4, 1862 Famous photograph of Abraham Lincoln on the battlefield of Antietam and standing with Allan Pinkerton and Major General John McClernand. Taken by famous photographer Alexander Gardner, this is one of the most famous moments of the Civil War and it is the only example we have ever handled. While we are unable to determine exactly when this was produced, it appears to be developed around 1910 and is from the collection of famous historian Frederick Meserve. An incredible piece of history that is being offered here for the first time ever.
