1954 Extremely early photograph of young Milwaukee Braves star Hank Aaron as he picks his bat during his first spring training in the major leagues. Taken at a rickety old ballpark, Aaron is holding one of Johnny Logan's bats, seeming to indicate he did not have one of his own yet through H&B or Adirondak because he was a rookie trying to make the club! While the photo has a 1955 date on the back, this is when the image was filed and the uniform appears to be lacking a number, which would indicate spring training 1954 or at the latest it is a second year 1955 spring training example! One of the finest documented 1954-55 images of Aaron we have handled and the condition is nice with some light creasing and handling wear. We genuinely believe this to be a 1954 spring training image and it is the only example we have ever seen offered for sale!
