Iconic 1951 photograph of young New York Giants rookie Willie Mays in uniform and taken in the dugout before a game. One of the most famous images of Mays ever taken, this was used to make his 1952 Berk Ross baseball card as well! One of only a handful of original examples of this image that is known to exist, this is a fine specimen that presents beautifully with some pinholes from editorial use and light handling wear from age as well as a tiny rip on the upper right corner. The photo is blank backed but the paper is absolutely consistent to the style and composition of that used in the 1950's and it does not fluoresce under a black light. Absolutely vintage in all aspects, this is a period example that is off the original negative, but we are not sure how PSA will treat the photo due to the blank back so please keep this in mind when bidding.
