One of the most detailed and artistic close ups ever photographed on a baseball diamond is this masterpiece from Acme featuring the eyes of Lou Gehrig. Another version of this image was taken in late 1927 by noted photographer Charles Conlon and people give him credit as being an innovator for doing so, when in reality he was copying the idea from this series done by Acme several months earlier! Bold and beautiful, there are two known examples of this photograph as far as we are aware of with this being (in our opinion) the superior of the two. Condition is nice overall with the only flaw being a spot where the gelatin pooled a bit on the surface and a small crease on the lower border. Incredible image which ranks among the best artistic close ups of all time. Issued by Acme and with full paper caption on the back, this is a real work of art!
