Lot Description  

1914 Photograph of Tom Hughes, Boston Braves pitcher taken about the time he was helping lead his team to an improbably victory in the World Series. He would win only 2 games in 1914 but would win 16 in each of the next two, leading the league in win percentage in 1916! Issued by Paul Thompson and stamped on the back, this is a high grade example and among the finest images of Hughes that exists!
