Eddie Murphy hit .486 for the 1919 White Sox! No joke, it was the highest average on the team by far. Problem is he only had 43 At Bats, but that's not his fault. Murphy was a pinch hitter and fill in guy and who wouldn't want a bench player that hits nearly .500. He was known as "Honest Eddie" for his role in the 1919 World Series as one of the "Clean" members of the White Sox. Although it is dated 1917 on the back, the uniform and Block NEA stamp make this more than likely a 1915 image. Condition is beautiful on the Silver Gelatin Image with the only problem being one crease above the head of Murphy which could be matted out. Rare Photo!
