If there was one guy who ever wore a Boston jersey that might have been a better hitter than Ted Williams, it was Hugh Duffy. During the 1890's nobody was a better hitter than Hugh, and his numbers are simply mind boggling. It is no wonder then that Ted Williams hit so well, his natural abilities were supplemented by High Duffy himself giving pointers to "the Kid" early in his career! Offered here is a photograph of Duffy in full uniform during his tenure as a Red Sox coach, taken by Ted Williams himself and from Williams' own scrapbook he kept! Offered here for the first time ever, this is more than just a rare photo of Hugh Duffy, it is a sign of respect from one fantastic hitter to another! Condition and quality are both quite nice with Ted Williams' own scrapbook paper still adhered to the back.
