Original 1913 studio photograph from San Francisco showing Christy Mathewson along with his wife and son. This family portrait is quite possibly a unique image with this being the only survivor. Silver gelatin photograph is bold an clear with the photographers stamp on the back as well as a 1913 filing date from NEA. Almost certainly taken during the 1913 Western Tour, the photo is in nice shape overall with some very mild handling wear and a few small pinholes. One of the happiest and most visually appealing Mathewson images we have handled. Mathewson photographs are underrated in the hobby and this is one of his most touching originals we have ever seen.
