Hoping to repeat the same heroics as the 1926 World Series in which he struck out Tony Lazzeri with the bases loaded to preserve the win for the Cardinals, the Red Birds went to the well one last time in the 1928 Series hoping for a similar result. It did not go well. This image for all intents and purposes signaled the end for the Hall of Famer as he was officially washed up. Issued by Acme and stamped on the back, this is a 1940's re-strike which still put it during the lifetime of Alexander. A clean and bold image which grades a perfect 10/10.
