Lot Description  

Stunning 1926 portrait photograph of NFL Football Hall of Famer Ernie Nevers in uniform with the St. Louis Browns. One of the first two-sport superstars, Nevers was as important to the early NFL as anyone but Red Grange and his inclusion as a member of the Browns made him a Nation-Wide superstar. The offered image is a masterpiece from noted pre-war photographer Louis Van Oeyen and his important stamp graces the back of the image with handwritten notations and a date. A work of art for sure!
