Important 1926 horizontal photograph of the crowd, and presumably Bobby Jones, headed to the 18th green at the U.S. Open. Photo is early and significant made even more special by the fact that while not identified, this is a known image from photographer Louis Van Oeyen! While he was mostly known for his baseball shots, Van Oeyen was a staff photographer at NEA who also covered local sporting events in Cleveland or the greater Ohio area. With the U.S. Open being held in Columbus, Ohio he was dispatched to cover the event and take pictures. We have sold other images from this event, all by Van Oeyen and the photo is also credited to him on the reverse. This is the only known example of this particular image and it is being presented here for the first time ever! There is a small rip at the bottom but otherwise the image presents really well.
