Incredible 1924 silver gelatin photograph issued by Kadel and Herbert and picturing the World Champion Washington Senators. Led by Walter Johnson (bottom row middle) the Senators would win their only World Series in a close affair with the New York Giants this year. Interesting that the paper caption on the back notes that they were only "American League Champions" at the time and it was taken October 6th. History would remember this as the greatest Senators team of all time and this is a fine specimen to immortalize them. Condition is quite nice with some extremely mild chipping on the bottom border and a few light corner chips. This is the only example of this photograph we have ever seen that gives a bit of a "behind the scenes" look and shows some of the chairs the players were standing on to create the look that photographers were going for.
