1927 Large and incredibly intimate portrait photograph of Lou Gehrig from the New York Yankees as he posed at the ballpark during the famous "Murderers Row" season. A famous photograph that was even used for the cover of the 1928 Sporting News Record Book, this is one of only a handful known to exist and only the second example we have ever handled personally. The offered Underwood and Underwood photograph carries full borders and a deep, perfect image, and it has a stamp and paper caption on the back. Offered here for the first time ever, fresh out of the Underwood archive and guaranteed to get a Type 1 from PSA. The photo has a hard crease that split on the left (essentially a rip) and it has been repaired on the back with tape, but could be restored to look great. One of his greatest images ever taken!
