Gene McCann was a player on the 1901 and 1902 Brooklyn Dodgers playing in a total of 9 games. After retiring from the game he became a chief scout for the Cincinnati Reds in 1919 for their World Championship run against the Chicago Black Sox. The offered image is the ONLY photograph of McCann in uniform with the champion Reds that we have ever seen in any form and it comes dated on the back from NEA. Offered here for the first time ever, this is a crystal clear and bold photograph. An important piece of 1919 World Series history that is surely the toughest subject to find of the entire 1919 Reds!
