Huge c. 1934 double weight batting photograph of Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig from the New York Yankees as he busted out of the box and headed toward first base. A fantastic work of art from one of the top photographers of the era, this is bold and clean with some light editorial handling and scrapbook paper on the back being the only flaw. The photo was lightly signed by Gehrig's wife but this was professionally removed with only the faintest remnants visible under Gehrig's knee (only pressurized water was used to dissolve the ink). Stamped on the back by Burke, this comes with a full letter of authenticity from PSA (Type 1) and it represents one of the few known Gehrig Burke photos we have ever handled and it is BY FAR the largest. An incredible piece of baseball photography!
