1965 Extremely rare action photograph of the bout between Muhammad Ali and Sonny Liston. This is the most famous boxing event of all time with the image of Ali towering over Liston and flexing on him being one of the most iconic in American history. The offered image is a unique new discovery from the bout which took place in a small arena in Lewiston, Maine and showing Liston on the attack. Stamped on the back by the Lewiston Sun Journal and likely unique, this is the only example of this photograph we have ever seen and it will get a Type 1 from PSA guaranteed! There is a light crease on the upper left but otherwise it presents well. Of particular note is the row of photographers in the frame, one of which is probably Neil Leifer who was poised to take the iconic photograph seen by billions across the world!
