c. 1899 Large vintage photograph of the iconic Madison Avenue in Manhattan (New York City) and presenting here like a work of art. The paper and silver gelatin surface or typical of turn-of-the-century photography and there is not a car in sight! A tremendous image with exceptional detail, the street sign at left is a really cool addition to the history of the piece. This could be hanging in a museum or gallery and is among the largest and best early New York City images we have handled. There is a bit of wear to the right side but otherwise it presents well in nice shape for the age.
