Large c. 1930 photograph of artist Gutzon Borglum as he oversees the carving of Thomas Jefferson's eye as it takes shape in the black mountains. It was part of his newest sculpture that would dominate America, Mt. Rushmore. A bold and incredible image from the archives of Underwood and Underwood and it presents well with note to some wear on the corners.
