Vintage Feb 23, 1945 photograph of the first Marines on Iwo Jima as they looked to advance up the sands toward Mt. Suribachi to plant the American Flag. This is from the lens of Louis Lowery and stamped on the back and despite being a restrike from about 1970, it was developed in a dark room on fiber backed paper. A perfect 10/10, this is the only example of this image we have ever seen and it is being offered here for the first time ever!
