1944 Important and iconic photograph of General Douglas MacArthur as he fulfilled his promise to the Philippines by returning to the island to free its people from the Japanese. A fantastic image that is stamped on the back by the United States Army, this is the only example of this photograph we have ever seen and it is being offered here for the first time ever from the archives of Underwood and Underwood. There is a little wear and a small piece of tape on the back from editorial use but it presents well overall.
