1944 Unique vintage photograph of American soldiers as they set up a makeshift night club in a tent on the battlefields of New Guinea. Of particular interest is a poker game taking place in which black soldiers are playing alongside their white buddies, in a scene that could be used to write a story on the birth of the Civil Rights Movement in America! Soldiers like this went home and took up the cause for their black friends they met in WWII and the rest is history! Offered here for the first time ever, the photo has some scrapbook paper on the back and a corner crease but otherwise it presents well.
