Lot Description  

Large 1926 photograph of baseball great Walter Johnson at the beach and surrounded by a bevy of beautiful ladies in swimsuits. My what would Mrs. Johnson have thought of this! He was leaving Florida for the baseball season and these high school girls were bidding him farewell. Issued by Underwood and Underwood and stamped on the back, this is one of only three known examples of this image we have ever seen and it looks great with one light crease on the corner.
