1911 Vintage photograph of rookies Max Carey and Alex McCarthy in uniform with the Pittsburgh Pirates and posing in uniform. A unique image in great shape, this is the best image of rookie McCarthy we have ever seen. It is impossible to date this photograph between 1911 and 1912 as the jerseys are 100% from 1911 but sometimes the players would wear the uniforms from the previous year at spring training and this does have a March 1912 date on the back. Regardless, this is an incredible early image of a popular Hall of Famer in uniform from early in his career. Offered here for the first time ever!
