These were found tucked inside the personal 1908 scrapbook of Hall of Famer Charles Comiskey. The first mentions it was sent from James E. Sullivan and he as informed the White Sox of Albert Spalding being notified of Chadwick's death and his wish that Mrs. Chadwick be seen at once and that plans be taken for tributes to the "Grand Old Man." The second typed letter is Albert Spalding's official statement regarding the life of his friend that would be published.
