Lost in the history of baseball is that in 1946 there was a major threat to the major leagues, from Mexico. The country was offering massive salaries to major leaguers to jump and while at first this was not taken seriously, enough players signed that the major leagues threatened banishment. While most players reneged and remained in the big leagues, several players were lured that even Babe Ruth had to take notice as he is pictured here taking in a game amid speculation that he would be named commissioner! Issued by Acme and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well, this is an important piece of Ruth history.
