The story of Dorothy Ruth is one of sadness and tragedy at first, but ultimately one of triumph. She was the biological daughter of Ruth and his mistress, a woman named Juanita Jennings. She was brought to Ruth's attention in 1922 in an embarrassing public revelation of Ruth's infidelity. He stepped up however and became a fine father to her. The offered image is the photograph used to announce Dorothy to the world and is a rare piece of Ruth history that shows her with the real hero of the story, Ruth's first wife Helen wife who stepped up to raise her.
