Incredible October 1981 photograph from the first ever concert by an unknown singer named Madonna who was performing at the Uncle Sam's Blues Club in Roslyn, Long Island. A photographer named George DuBose was asked to please come and take some images of the singer who did not have e record contract but was trying to pitch her demo tapes to local radio stations. He agreed and the images have gone down as some of the most important in music history. We have seen a total of FIVE original photographs from this concert offered for sale in twenty years with this being the sixth and a new example showing the singer sporting a look that was seeming to shift away from her earlier punk influences and more into the pop star she would become! The photograph is from a prominent music archive and stamped on the back identifying the photographer as well, cementing this as a Type 1 example! A perfect 10/10 that is being offered here for the first time ever! One of the most important music photographs we have ever offered!
