1953 Vintage studio portrait photograph of actress Marilyn Monroe from her early film "Niagara" and wearing a black and white halter top. Thei is possibly her most famous image ever taken as it was the shot chosen by Andy Warhol for his 1967 masterpiece screen print series of the actress. This is the only vintage example of this photograph we have ever seen and the first we can recall being offered for sale. A piece of pop-culture art, this particular example appears to be original from the late 1950's or early 1960's based on the paper and gelatin surface, but PSA will not certify it as a Type 1 because it is slightly trimmed and blank backed. One of the greatest Hollywood images we have ever offered.
