1925 Large photograph of Chicago Bears sensation Red Grange and his teammates during the first NFL game for the "Galloping Ghost." An important image that is the first we have ever seen and from the day that professional football and sports in general were changed forever. A year earlier, NFL games were lucky to get 500 people to watch but on this day 40,000 clamored to see Red Grange and the rest is history! Issued by Underwood and Underwood and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well, the image has some handling wear and chipping from news-room use but the image quality is fantastic. Offered here fresh out of the Underwood archive.
