The 1961 season has gone down as perhaps the greatest in baseball history, and it all started right here! Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris posed with their manager and their bats on the first day of spring training in which it was hoped that they would have a big season! Nobody could have predicted the home run chase would ensue, but this photograph is an incredible piece of baseball history that was taken months before the players would change baseball forever! The photo is in pretty nice shape overall with note to some editorial marks from publication and wear to the lower left corner. This is a Hall of Fame worthy piece of baseball photography with an exceptional caption that memorializes the day as well!
