1923 Large vintage photograph of members of the New York Yankees rushing to the aid of pitcher Herb Pennock after being beaned at the plate in the World Series (second game) against the Giants. Easily recognizable rushing to the scene and ready for a fight is Babe Ruth as well as the Yankees diminutive manager Miller Huggins. From the International News and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well, this is a nearly perfect specimen that is the only example of this photograph we have ever seen. Images from the 1923 World Series are undervalued in the hobby as it was the first Yankee championship and this one captures the great Babe Ruth as well!
