1935 Rare photograph of pioneer actor Keye Luke in costume as "Number One Son" from the film "Charlie Chan in Shanghai." While clearly playing off racial stereotypes, the Charlie Chan series was an important step in giving Asians a place to make money in Hollywood. While a bit part player in this film, Luke would have an important legacy in film as he was one of the founding members of the screen actors guild and played huge roles throughout his career in film. An important image in nice shape overall with keybook holes on the side from the studio as issued.
