1916 Famous photograph of tragic Hollywood actress Olive Thomas as she appeared at an exhibition game between the New York Giants and New York Yankees to benefit charity but also film segments for an upcoming Hollywood serial "PlayBall." One of the first films to incorporate actual major league footage, this was also the debut for Thomas who was coming straight from the Ziegfeld Follies but would soon become one of the top actresses in the world! This is a famous image in both baseball and Hollywood genres but this is the only vintage example we have ever seen and it is being offered here for the first time ever, from the archives of Underwood and Underwood. An important piece of photographic history, this presents well with some pinholes from editorial use, otherwise it is essentially perfect.
