c. 1880 Large cabinet photograph of actress Maggie Mitchell striking a pose from her latest production. She was Abraham Lincoln's favorite actress and he watched her often at Ford's Theatre in Washington, even having her to the White House for tea at one time! She was also a close friend with John Wilkes Booth, making for quite the stories after 1865 we are sure! She had a long career that even saw her on the stage with Florence Ziegfeld later in life! This is her only vintage photograph we have ever handled and it presents beautifully from the famous Sarony studios!
