c. 1870's Large vintage Joseph Wood cabinet photograph of Yamamota Hostara, known professionally as King Sarbro, who was a high-wire performer and aerialist with the Sells Brothers Circus. He was among the most famous performers of his day and an early minority superstar in America. He died young in 1882 and his images and story or lost to history with this being an incredible piece of early photography from a famous photo studio in New York.
