1936 Rare vintage photograph of the American track team lined up in Berlin for the start of the Olympics. The photograph shows the squad in uniform proudly waving the stars and stripes, but with the German team lined up right next to them and waving their Nazi flag in their faces! There are four black athletes lined up but since the image is taken slightly from behind, it is impossible to determine exactly where Jesse Owens in in the shot. A rare original in great shape, this is a poignant piece of sports imagery when taking into account what would happen in the days to follow and Jesse Owens' place in social history!
