c. 1914 Extremely early photograph of young Elaine Rosenthal, just 18 years old at the time, and coming so close to winning the Western Open championship. The sting of the loss would be eased the next year as she would win the event, the first of three championships for Rosenthal. One of the top ladies golfers of the early 20th century, this is among her earliest and best photographs we have ever seen in the hobby. A true piece of early ladies golf history and in great shape overall and it is one of just two known examples of this rare image! The photo has a touch of handling wear from storage in an archive but overall it presents really nicely.
