On December 7, 1941 the New York Giants honored their superstar Tuffy Leemans on "Leemans Day" at the Polo Grounds. The offered 1939 photograph would be used for the cover of the program which has become an iconic piece of WWII and sports history now as the game would be rocked by the information that Pearl Harbor had been attacked and a PA announcement to the crowd that all reserve military men needed to leave and report to their posts. This is the only vintage example of the image used to make the famous program we have ever seen and it is stamped on the back with the date and a full paper caption from Acme as well. An important piece of sports and WWII history that is being offered here for the first time ever!
