The October 28, 1922 football game between Princeton and Chicago was one of the most anticipated of the year, and it was the perfect opportunity to try out the sport for a new medium, the radio. The game was the first to be broadcast over the airways from Chicago to New York and subsequently to a nationwide audience. The game lived up to it's billing and was a great one, but many historians have claimed this to be the most important radio broadcast of all time as it expanded the medium and it's use of sports. This is one of the only images from this important game and moment in history that we have ever seen and it is being offered here for the first time ever, fresh from a prominent newspaper archive! The photo has some wear to the edges and pinholes from publication, but the clarity is exceptional.
