Incredible c. 1910 action photograph of Jim Thorpe from the Carlisle Indians, kicking a ball on the Carlisle field in full uniform. This is a perfect photo postcard in great shape with the identification on the back in ink that is a nice touch as well. Most of Thorpe's face can be seen and the uniform and field are both matched, but Thorpe's famous kick is like a fingerprint and this is instantly recognized as the figure of the greatest football player of his era. This is one of three known example of this postcard and possibly the finest of the three with no creases and perfect clarity. An important image that is also technically a football card and is being offered publicly here for the first time ever! One of the finest images of Thorpe we have ever handled!
