1916 Crystal clear and exceptional portrait photograph of baseball Hall of Famer Christy Mathewson from the New York Giants and posing at the ballpark in full uniform. From the archives of Underwood and Underwood and stamped on the back, this is one of his greatest and most visually stunning images ever taken. Condition and quality make this a perfect 10/10 and it comes with an pair of embossed stamps from the Underwood archive which are a great touch. The photo is dated to about 1920-1922 (likely developed about the time Mathewson was recovering from his illness) and fits within our range for a Vintage 1 example, but possibly outside the range for a PSA Type 1.
