Important 1933 photograph of Babe Ruth, Al Simmons and Charlie Gehringer as the trio of sluggers posed at Comiskey Park before the start of the first ever major league baseball all-star game. It is incredible to think of the storied history of the baseball "mid-summer classic" and that it all started right here. We have handled a few images from the first all-star game before, but this is the only example where Ruth has taken a prominent role in the frame. Issued by the Associated Press and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well as a secondary date stamp from newspaper filing, this absolutely get a Type 1 from PSA!
