c. 1930 Vintage portrait style photograph of Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig from the New York Yankees as he posed at the ballpark in uniform. One of his greatest images we have ever handled, the photo is crystal clear and bold with incredible tones and use of shadow and light making this a work of baseball art. The photo has been trimmed a bit and exhibits some creasing to the lower left (repaired on the back with some tape) and a bit of handling wear, but it looks amazing. The photo has been authenticated by PSA as a Type 1 but removed from the holder. Easily among the top handful of Gehrig images we have ever handled and offered here for the first time ever!
