Large c. 1922 double weight photograph of Joan Maude, who played the lead in "Salome" and is captured here with wild hair and the head of John the Baptist. While the image itself is amazing, the stamp on the back identifies this as the work of pioneer female photographer Yevonde Middleton and taken from early in her career.
