1973 Important and beautiful full-color photograph by Caufield and Shook (the official photographers of the Kentucky Derby) and showing Penny Tweedy, the owner of the famous race horse "Secretariat" holding her trophy after winning the Kentucky Derby. The photo was linen backed and mounted into a photo-album by the photographer and presented to the track superintendent at Churchill Downs in 1973 (Thurman Pangburn). We removed this image and soaked the linen backing off, which revealed the important Kodak watermarks on the back. Photos of the original album cover and other photographs from the album are pictured for provenance and the item will come with a letter of provenance as well. This is one of the only full-color images of Tweedy at the Kentucky Derby that we have ever seen and it is being offered here for the first time ever!
