1941 Extremely rare, double weight photograph of Heavyweight Champion of the World, Joe Louis as he relaxed at Greenwood Lake. This is the work of famous art photographer Carl Van Vechten and stamped on the back. Van Vechten was one of the first photographers to take an intertest in black culture and his works are undervalued today, with this being one of the only images of Louis by the photographer we have ever seen!
