1936 Rare and important photograph of famous German boxer Max Schmeling as he was honored by Adolf Hitler in Germany after he had defeated Joe Louis for the Heavyweight title. Schmeling was the pride of Nazi Germany, despite not being an actual follower of their ideals, and his story would become a legendary tale in the world of sports and Civil Rights. This is the only original photo of Schmeling and Hitler together we have ever seen and it is dated on the back with a newspaper caption as well. There is some editorial marks from newspaper publication but otherwise it presents really well.
